Refund policy

This policy applies to services sold by MACHINES - WORDS (Pty) Ltd, trading as Machines + Words, registration number 2026/713540/07. Amounts are shown in US dollars.
In short. I promise a refund, not a result. The setup has a 60-day promise. If I miss my own delivery date, you get your setup fee back.
The Booked-Call Front Page (US$750 for my first 3 clients, then US$1,500; then US$99 a month for maintenance)
"Your page goes live within 7 days of your words and photos, or I refund your full build fee within 7 days."
- You see the free demo before you pay anything, so the promise is about delivery: on time, or your money back.
- The maintenance fee is not refunded otherwise. You can stop it any month, and it ends at the end of the month you have already paid for (see the cancellation policy).
The Founding Client (US$750 setup, then US$1,000 a month) and the Booked-Call Machine (US$2,500 setup, then US$1,000 a month)
The 60-day promise:
"At intake we write down one number together: the discovery calls your booking tool shows for the 60 days before launch. If, 60 days after launch, your booking tool shows no more calls than that number, and you did your part, I refund your full setup fee within 7 days. Your part: the door block on at least 6 posts, the application and booking link kept live, and replies to applications within 2 working days. You keep everything built. Monthly fees already paid are not refunded."
- Founding Client: the setup fee is US$750, so the 60-day promise refunds US$750. Month 1, paid at signing, is a monthly fee.
- The monthly fee is not refunded otherwise. You can stop any month, and it ends at the end of the month you have already paid for (see the cancellation policy).
- Full refund of the setup fee if I miss the 21 days by my own fault.
If I cannot take you on
If I cannot take on any service after you pay, I refund everything you paid, in full.
Services bought before 17 October 2026
These keep the refund terms that applied on the day they were confirmed in writing.
Free services
The 2-minute check, its 5 emails and the Thursday letter are free, so there is nothing to refund.
How to ask for a refund
Email hello@machines-words.com with your name and the service you bought. I reply within 2 working days. Approved refunds are paid within 10 working days, through the payment provider you paid with.
Refunds are made in the currency you paid in. Currency conversion differences and bank fees are not covered.
